Cocoa Stand Week - Day 1

Hi!  Nicky back with you today and I have a fun new card for the holiday season featuring Cocoa Stand and I've also used Dotted Borders for the two snow drifts.

I love to make backgrounds, especially snowy ones and for this one I ink blended with Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire and a little Black Soot.  I then splattered it up with white acrylic paint that I loosened up with a drop of water.

I die cut two snow drifts using the Dotted Borders die.  I adhered one directly and the other was backed with foam tape and added.  I stamped 'season's greetings' from the set onto a strip of cardstock and applied it with foam tape.  The entire panel was adhered to a sturdy 110lb white cardstock base and set to one side.

On Bristol Smooth cardstock the images from Cocoa Stand were stamped then watercolour painted  using Kuretake Zigs in Wine Red, Persian Green, Oatmeal, Cool Gray 1, Light Pink and finally a Tombow ABT in shade 761.  Points were highlighted with a white gel pen and images were die cut, backed with foam tape and applied to the scene.

Glitter was added to the hanging star, the snow on the stand and the string lights and I adhered little wood stars into sky to keep the look sweetly rustic.

What's not to love about Cocoa Stand I ask you?

See you next time!

Over to Caryn ...

I just LOVE Heather's Peek-a-Boo designs and the Cocoa Stand set may be my favourite so far!  That cute polar bear just makes me melt!
I started with a white card base and blended some Tumbled Glass distress ink to give a hint of snowy sky and splattered some white paint over it so add some subtle snowfall.
I stamped the images I wanted for my card in New Moon dye ink and then coloured them with Copics before die-cutting.

I assembled my scene using foam tape and Avery Elle liquid adhesive and then finished off with some glossy accents on the bows and fairy lights and some distress glitter on the snow.
