Hey, it's Caryn here with a (slightly sinister) creation featuring the Mermaids clear stamps and Elle-ments. My wicked streak couldn't help but pair this cute, sweet-faced little mermaid with one of the hungry sharks from Hello Chum! I don't think she realises what's about to happen but I'm definitely humming the JAWS theme right now!
I stamped and coloured the images with Copics and added some bling to the mermaid with Diamond Glaze and Avery Elle glitter on her hair. To build my scene I used the Burst dies
to create a window using wood-effect cardstock and added some blue
vellum behind it so it gives the effect of looking through water. I
stamped a few images from Hello Chum (waves and fishes) onto the vellum and then adhered the shark slightly off-centre. I die-cut some coral using the Coral Reef Elle-ments and made a small banner for the "Let's Do Lunch" sentiment.

Oh how cruel of
ReplyDeleteyou! Too cute and
of course the Mermaid
will flick her tail
at the shark and
escape without a
scratch!

Fantastic card! I chuckled when I first saw it. I'm not that in to mermaids but, after seeing your card, I just may invest in a mermaid set along with the Hello Chum set. I guess I must be sinister, too, if it took seeing this card to inspire me to purchase a mermaid stamp. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteCarla I'm sure you're right, I'm sure she escaped unharmed (insert maniacal laugh)!!
ReplyDeleteKirsten, not all mermaid cards have to be cute - it's fine to embrace your slightly twisted, dark side now and again, lol!!!
